PERA RESTAURANT - CLACTON ON SEA

This is our 5th Visit and i can honestly say it's The Best Turkish Restaurant in the Clacton area by far, Authentic Food, drink, ambience and background music.. most of all the Best Service. Especially the lad who is always professional with a great sense of humor 10/10

Pera was recommended by a friend who had been very impressed with her visit to Pera. As it was our anniversary we chose to give Pera a try. We are so glad we did. We'd booked a table for 18.30 which on arriving, found that it was probably the best thing to have done as it was rather busy, but quietened down around 45mins later. The menus were on the table and after a few minutes our drinks order was taken, which duly arrived very soon after, along with appetisers of seasoned bread, olives, tzatziki and a spicy tomato dip. We were told they were a complementary item. The menu is quite extensive and we chose starters of lambs liver and the whitebait. Both were delicious and plentiful. The whitebait was cooked to perfection, slightly crispy, but tender and moist. The lamb was tender and moist and full of flavour. Once finished, the waiter was quick to clear the plates away, without being intrusive, also replacing my used napkin with a fresh one. My husband had Lamb Sarma Beyti and I had the Mixed Kebab main courses. When served, they smelt delicious and we were not disappointed at all. Everything was presented nicely and tasted just as delicious as it smelt. The salad was nice and fresh with a lovely tasty dressing, too. I have to confess that I couldn't finish my food. Seeing my plate still had food left, I was asked by the waiter if everything was okay. After explaining that I just couldn't eat any more, I was asked if I would like a takeaway container for any leftovers, to take home with me. Most definitely I did, it was far too good to leave behind! Neither of us could manage a dessert - very unusual for us. We sat chatting to the waiter as it was much quieter by now and he learned we were there for our anniversary. The waiter left and returned a few minutes later with a complimentary dessert for us to share! It was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated. Our visit to Pera was definitely one we shall remember for all the right reasons. Attentive, but not intrusive staff. Good service in a reasonable amount of time. Delicious food and plenty of it with prices which are not unreasonable considering the quality and quantity. Definitely recommend a visit and I know we will most certainly visit again.

Made a last minute booking. Very accommodating for the amount off people at the last minute. staff very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing. Would recommend to my family and friends. Will definitely be going again.

Lovely food like so much platter couldn't finish had to pack home. We really enjoyed as a family

Vera is not only just a restaurant but a full experience for our taste! Chef Ozzy & team are the kindest and happy to serve you and each course is an explosion of different flavours, everything made from fresh ingredients and when it comes to your table you feel it was prepared just for you! Highly recommend

First time we've visited Pera Very pleasantly surprised Clean tasting Huge portions Amazing flavours we had the chicken yoghurt and the lamb yoghurt shish The meat was so incredibly tender. We'll definitely be back. We left with another meal each as we couldn't finish it all Absolutely blown away our new favourite place to eat Thanks Ozzy and Family

Booked a table here last minute on a Sunday evening for 7 of us, food was delicious homemade authentic Turkish food. Very generous portions and the staff couldn’t do enough. Making sure we had enough napkins, straws and lollies for the children at the end. Lovely way to spend the last evening of our weekend break. Thank you! I’m gluten free and they were accommodating with their food. I was reassured quite a lot with the staff knowing what food I could have on the menu and its cooking process. The food was exceptional, I have not enjoyed a meal like that in a long time. Will definitely come back
